Drive units of aircrafts have to be checked regularly to guarantee a proper working. Until now you needed four different test devices and a high number of specialists to check the Larzac04 Alpha Jet engine completely.
We of the ecc – in cooperation with the Brandenburg Technical University – aimed to improve and optimize the expensive test equipment and the algorithms with their intensity of material, time and staff considerably. We managed this challenge by developing and constructing a new generation of test devices of engines – the new mobile universal ground test equipment BPG8.
Now all the checks can be managed with the help of the very one apparatus:
- Simulation and measuring of electrical units
- The determination of the vibration reaction
- The analysis of vibrations dependent on the number of revs
- The determination of diverse relevant pressures
In addition INA numbers can be calculated and indicated. The measuring and INA numbers are stored and are available in printed measure protocols even after the test run. That‘s why it is possible to capture, to check and to document the relevant numbers in only one run and by only one specialist.
The BPG8 makes it easier to do adjustments at the engine by calculating all the necessary parameters for the test run in real time which means an essential shortcut of the test run at full power.
The new test device BPG8 can be used universally. It can be adapted on several types of engines and it can easily be transported because of its measures.
The new ground test device saves time in headcount and engine run through its multifunctional, quick and high precise recording of measures, analysis and storing. The consumption of kerosene is reduced considerably. The new ground test device saves investments and reduces running costs.
